dpiX, LLC Announces Expansion Plan to Meet Growing Demand PALO ALTO, Calif., April 5, 2006 -- dpiX, LLC announces a new facility to expand its production capacity to meet the growing demand of the digital x-ray sensor market. Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, the new facility will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and employ approximately 125 people, including engineers and fab operators. dpiX, LLC is the world's largest volume supplier of quality amorphous silicon (a-Si) sensors for digital x-ray imaging. This investment will allow dpiX to continue to meet the future needs of dpiX's customers. The initial market growth area using the sensors manufactured by dpiX is medical x-ray imaging. As this new technology has become accepted, other industries are finding similar benefits and making the conversion from x-ray film and other fluoroscopic x-ray techniques. dpiX has been producing large area digital x-ray sensors since 1990, and products have been in medical use since 1993. Originally
part of Xerox PARC and now a consortium of major medical x-ray imaging
system companies, dpiX is a specialized semiconductor fabricator that
designs and manufactures amorphous-silicon (a-Si) digital x-ray sensor
arrays for the medical, dental, veterinary, security, and non-destructive
testing (NDT) global markets. dpiX is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.
