Company History

dpiX LLC was established in 1999 after a $50 million DoD grant led to the founding of dpiX Inc. in the 1990s. The technology utilized is based upon the Xerox PARC program that was created in 1970 as the future in the “architecture of information.” dpiX’s move from Palo Alto, CA, to Colorado Springs was completed by 2011.

Located in Colorado Springs, dpiX looks out on the famous Pikes Peak Mountain (known to have inspired the famous “America the Beautiful”) and is proud to be located in the city nicknamed the “Olympic City.” Recently ranked the 5th best place to live in the US and the 6th “Best Weekend Getaway” location by U.S. News,  Colorado Springs offers breath-taking hiking and biking opportunities as well as being home to Garden of the Gods, the Air Force Academy, and the Olympic Training Center – to name a few.

Overview

Headquartered in Colorado Springs, dpiX provides best-in-class high-resolution imaging solutions to some of the world’s most demanding medical, industrial, and military markets for digital X-ray imaging. Check out our video for a brief overview of our production process:

Outreach

At dpiX,  we value the Colorado (Springs) community that we are fortunate to be a part of. As a result, we are proud of our multiple engagements within the greater community. Our interaction with Carmel Middle School through fundraisers, judging at their science fair, and assisting with an after school robotics competition have been immensely rewarding. Furthermore, we are proud to participate in annual events, such as Climb for Courage benefiting Children’s Colorado Foundation and Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and of our weekly upkeep of our Colorado Springs City Garden Plot.

dpiX is proud of our community involvement with the following organizations: UC Health, Seaperch, See the Change USA, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Bonfils Blood Center, Springs in Bloom, CAMA, Colorado Springs Science Festival, and Carmel Middle School.

While Trixell is targeting excellence in x-ray imaging, we rely on dpiX to provide us the dedication and R&D focus for complex designs. As of today, I estimate that only dpiX is able to combine this R&D capability along with the production capacity, efficiency, and reliability that we can convey to our own customers. Despite the geographical and cultural distance between the Colorado Springs setup of dpiX and the Grenoble/France location of Trixell design teams, dpiX has provided us with the close partnership we were looking for, with always the problem-resolution orientation and open-minded attitude.
